Vapor Cué is located 4 km from the center of Caraguatay, a small village that has seen the birth of no less than three presidents of the Republic! It is a historical site, an open-air museum, dedicated to the Paraguayan ships of the Triple Alliance War. A surrealist landscape with boats in the middle of the field. Those ships ran aground there in 1869. They came from the Rio Yhaguy to escape the Brazilian fleet that was chasing them. Unable to resist, they burned the ships so as not to leave them to the enemy. In 1978, the state took out the old sunken ships to exhibit them. The locals say that when a storm is approaching, when the wind is blowing hard, you can hear the howls of the men fighting on the boats..
