Also known as Muang Hiam, the village has little interest other than being the entry point to the Nam Et-Phou Louey nature reserve. From Luang Prabang, take the bus to Sam Neua. Departure every day between 7am and 8am. The journey takes about ten hours. From Sam Neua, the bus leaves every day around 7:30 am in the direction of Vieng Thong. It takes about five hours to reach Vieng Thong. It also leaves Phonsavan every day at 8:30 am for a 7-hour drive to Vieng Thong. There are a few guesthouses and a restaurant behind the market in the village. Hot springs are a 15 minute walk north.
