CLIFF PATH
Read moreIt is said to be the most beautiful balcony in Europe! The Corniche Path offers a splendid view of the citadel, the Neumünster Abbey and the entire lower town of Grund. The walk starts from the plateau of the Holy Spirit and extends along the ramparts to the rocky promontory of the Bock, where Count Sigefroi had a castle built in 963, at the heart of the future fortress of Luxembourg. The old fortifications, dismantled after the Treaty of London (1867), offer a unique view of the Alzette and Petrusse valleys.
JUDICIAL CITY
Read moreInaugurated on 6 October 2008, overlooking the Lower Town on the Holy Spirit Plateau, the Judicial City is worth a visit, particularly for its buildings in the Moselle Baroque style (Youth Court, Justice of the Peace and many others). Many people also take its lift which leads directly to the Lower Town: handy to avoid going down on the sloping streets! On the forecourt, where the view is superb, especially at night, you will discover a monumental sculpture representing in an arc of a circle a series of birds taking flight.
