PARC MANSFELD

A haven of greenery just a stone's throw from the city, the Mansfeld Park gardens were inaugurated in 2017, on the 500th anniversary of Count Pierre-Ernest de Mansfeld, former governor of the Duchy. They are home to historical remnants of the Château La Fontaine: the Neptune basin, the artificial grotto and the St. Peter and Venus fountains. With its splendid view over the city, it has become a meeting place where Luxembourgers like to stroll and picnic. During the summer season, open-air concerts are regularly organized here.

MUNICIPAL PARK

Set up from 1871 to 1878 by landscape architect Edouard André on the location of the ramparts and glacis of the front of the old fortress, the municipal park spans a surface of 16 ha. KIRCHBERG ARBORETUM

Thierry Helminger, a botanist at the National Museum of Natural history and responsible for living vegetable collections, proposes two parks guided tours: A visit to the Réimerwee and central parks of a duration of 90 min (departure rue Coudenhove-Kalergi, next to IST) and a visit of the Park Klosegrënnchen also lasting 90 min.
