Perched high in the Clarke Ranges, Eungella National Park is Aboriginal for "cloud country" and protects one of Australia's oldest rainforests . A wide variety of ancient flora and fauna survive here, such as the Eungella frog, which incubates its eggs in its stomach and gives birth by spitting the young out of its mouth. At dusk, you can see the sugar glider and the brushtail possum. During the day, look for rainbow lorikeets , brown and red finches and blue-headed honeyeaters . Finally, the undeniable stars of the park, don't miss the platypus at dusk between May and August.
