The 53 km of the2nd largest island in the Whitsundays consist mainly of a nature park and white sandy beaches. The underwater observatory allows you to descend 9 meters below sea level to see coral formations and tropical fish. Hook Island is an excellent starting point for diving, as it is the northernmost island in the Whitsundays. The fjord-like cove of Nara is a popular anchorage for yachtsmen. There are several public campsites managed by the national park, the most important of which is Maureens Cove. Manta Ray Bay and Black Reef are undeniably the best dive sites.
