It is the largest and most popular of the islands of the Whitsundays archipelago with its 109 km² and a peak of 438 meters. A marvelous viewpoint, Tongue Point, allows you to get a good view of the surroundings. There are no hotels but several public campgrounds managed by the national parks such as Peter Bay (northwest, secluded site), Dugong and Sawmill beaches (west, spacious and popular sites with water, toilets), Joe's Beach (southwest, secluded site, good diving spots) and the 7 km long Whitehaven beach (spacious site with toilets). Certainly the most beautiful of the islands.
