This park, with an area of 6 374 ha, has a campground near the administration, to the southeast of Malleco lake (camping Inalaufquén). Two trails of 12 km (all day) towards Mesacura and Lagunillas cross a beautiful araucarias forest; another, 8 km (6 h round trip), leads to the Salto del Malleco, a waterfall of 50 m high, and at the Salto de la Culebra (of the same size), then at the Laguna Malleco, ideal for fishing. To access the park, take the runway to the east, 5 km north of Victoria on 5 Ruta (Pan, direction Rosario). Relatively average state, only transitable in summer. Or then (more realistic) take the track from Curacautín to the thermal baths of Tolhuaca (34 km), and continue the last 8 kilometers to the park. Only accessible in summer. Collective taxis provide connections from Curacautín (only to the thermal baths). For any information on the thermal baths: in Curacautín, Calama 240 Tel (45) 881 211 - www.termasdetolhuaca.cl - Pay (count $ 5 000 the entrance to get the tina (small baths) and fumeroles, $ 8 000 if you want to take advantage of the pool). Very nice environment. There is a campsite, an apartment (at least 6 people, a maximum of 8) and a comfortable hotel (the use of the thermal baths and the three meals are included). Another good option for staying: Cabañas del Bosque Nativo. Km 6,8 from Curacautín to thermal baths Tel (45) 197 6148 - www.cabanasbosquenativo.cl - Eight superb 62 m 2 stone and wood chalets with good privacy, and a charming hotel with rooms with private health and central heating. The chalets are well furnished and very comfortable. Some are à! Large swimming pool with terrace in summer, bicycle ready for children. A great luxury!
