Superb reserve (managed by SHTM), located between Ambovombe and Amboasary. The reserve was founded by the de Heaulme family in 1936. In a superb environment, the Mandrare river valley allows exceptional flora to develop at the very edge of the bush. The visit to Berenty is well organized: it's pleasant to immerse yourself in nature, while enjoying comfortable bungalows. Researchers from the USA, Europe, Japan and Australia come here to study primates. Many public figures have visited, including Prince Philip of Edinburgh and the son of the Emperor of Japan.
