11 km after the Ampasimanolotra bridge at Brickaville, a sign on the right points the way to this modest village on the shores of Lac Rasoabe and the Canal des Pangalanes. There are 7 km of hard-to-cross track ahead. The best way out is to take a boat to Lake Ampitabe, about 1 hour from Manambato, visit the Akanin'ny Nofy reserve and then take a boat back to Tamatave. An exciting loop that allows you to admire part of the Pangalanes Canal. The excursion is not free: ask at the Palmarium for details. The site is truly enchanting. Sunrises from the beach are superb!
