Nearly 70 km from Tambacounda, Dar Salam is the closest village to the main entrance of the Niokolo Koba Park, on the Tambacounda-Kédougou axis. There are two camps, a health post and a guard post to buy the park permit. It is also there that you can contract guides (it is mandatory to enter the park and rent 4x4s for your visit).
