At first glance, Sédhiou, a hundred kilometres from Ziguinchor, has nothing colonial about it and does not seem to have retained any important vestiges of its grandeur as the region's former capital. Apart from the prefecture, the administrative buildings that line the town centre are not very attractive in style. However, on closer inspection, a few houses speak of their past. Despite the size of the city, walking in the streets in the early morning is enough for Sédhiou to reveal its nuances, its past, its grandeur. The river is calm, very beautiful, and its crossing from Diaroumé is worth the detour. Possibility of excursions in the surroundings
