If you continue beyond Quinhamel, after an hour and a half on a rough track, you'll come to a bad beach that's nothing special. It's the view from the road that's interesting, with lush natural surroundings and villages that are transformed. Large houses appear, resembling the union of several huts, with huge straw roofs. Here you are in the heart of Guinea-Bissau. Avid birdwatchers can spend hours at the edge of the inlet and observe a host of birds. The region is also famous for the loincloths woven by the Papel ethnic group.
