Superstitious menhirs in Saint-Pierre-Église, dating from the Neolithic period and known as the Three Princesses.
There are three of them, called "pierres butées" or "menhirs", dating from the Neolithic period. They include the "Pierre Plantée" at Cosqueville, the 4-metre-high "Longue Pierre" at Plat-Douet and the "Haute Pierre" at Saint-Pierre. These three rocks form a triangle known as "Les Trois Princesses". Legend also has it that in the centre of the triangle, at the Pelot pond, lies the dowry of the princesses about to be married. Superstitious stones and menhirs dot the Val de Saire.
