When you arrive at Kélé, on the road to Léconi, if you turn left, you go north towards Okondja. After 186 km of a difficult track, one crosses Akiéni, chief town of the department of Lékoni-Lékori, populated with about 10 000 inhabitants. Nestled on the northern bank of the Baniaka River, this unpretentious little town nevertheless reveals beautiful hilly landscapes. It is pleasant to stop here for a stroll and also to get supplies. Take the time to chat with its inhabitants who will welcome you in a warm and friendly manner. As of February 2019, the town is led by a mayor, Mali Regina.
