With a population of about 2,000, Kango is a small village near Ntoum, nestled on the banks of the Komo River. It has little tourist interest in itself, except for the wilderness that surrounds it, consisting of lush forests, mangroves and streams. Accompanied by a guide, you can plan walks in the area and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Kango is also known for having been the site of a large ivory trade between Europeans and indigenous peoples during the colonial era. Today, the town's economy is based on fishing, agriculture and logging, which is decreasing in the region.
