Off the beaten track, Muisne consists of a mainland and an island reached by crossing the river in a canoe. It was one of the places hardest hit by the 2016 earthquake. Its faded port and dilapidated buildings give it a neglected appearance. But its main attractions are its immense grey-sand beach, fringed with coconut palms, and the beautiful mangrove swamp. At low tide, countless red crabs invade the sand, giving the beach an orange hue. However, it's best to bring an umbrella and K-way, as it often rains here.ISLA SAN CRISTÓBAL
