Golden was founded in the 1840 s by miners looking for gold in Coyote Creek. Until the beginning of the th century, the miners, first white, and then Chinese, succeeded in digging around. In 1920, shops stopped gradually and the 200 inhabitants left the premises. Today, it is a ghost town, where there is still a church and a few houses. It is interesting to go along with the West Coast mineral History.
