With 20,000 inhabitants, Port Angeles is the largest city on the Olympic Peninsula. It is an industrial fishing port that aligns, between the sea and the mountains, pretty painted wooden houses along its avenues. Fishing and timber exploitation are the main local industries. Port Angeles is a starting point for taking the ferry to Victoria (Canada) or discovering the peninsula on foot, bike or car rides. You can enjoy the sea and lakes by boat or kayak. The city's interest is centred around well-known events such as the Seafood Festival in October. The festival was then in full swing under marquees set up on the port. The rest of the time, the city is deserted in the evening, the few bars in the city centre provide a quiet animation.
