It is the most beautiful island of the San Juan archipelago, and the soul of its inhabitants plays a great role in its authentic character. Mount Constitution, 732 m high, dominates Puget Sound and offers a panoramic view of the San Juan Islands. Moran State Park attracts many hikers who come to discover its wilderness. There are not really cities on the island, Eastsound is the main town with just a few shops, Olga and Deer Harbor also has a few small shops. Two hotel complexes, located in the south-east of the island, welcome travellers. A community of retirees, artists and farmers enjoy peaceful days in houses scattered among the trees.
