Here's a well-known Perth venue that opened in a former foundry where metal vats, pulleys and face masks still have their place in the large, dimly lit room. Locals come here to watch sport, chat and play pool while enjoying a draught or a dram. On the food side, there are some fairly well-prepared snacks here, such as pizza and burgers, or generous portions of home fries (the halloumi fries do the job well).

THE OLD SHIP INN

This old ship is far from being a newcomer to Perth... as it is the oldest pub in the city, dating back to 1665. For several centuries it has been hidden away in the old High Street, a few steps from the Tay River, out of sight. This traditional pub is known and appreciated for its friendly and authentic welcome, but also, of course, for its Cask Ales, its impressive collection of gins (more than 250), but also its numerous whiskies. It is also a high place for sports broadcasts: the place to be on match evenings.
