THE POT STILL

Pub
4/5
1 review

With more than 700 different whiskies and a beautiful changing selection of real ales, one can hardly go wrong in pushing the doors of this institution. Dating back to the 19th century, the Pot Still has preserved its beautiful interiors, behind its discreet little green front. The location is ideal for discovering the country's many single malts and whiskies from all over the world, especially as the establishment has been awarded the "Icon of Whiskey Scotland Whisky Bar of the Year 2019" prize, following many others! Also to be tasted: its exceptional pies.

THREE JUDGES

Pub

This very pleasant little place in the South West End is a must in the neighbourhood. Regulars come here to meet, chat and taste one of the nine real ales available, as well as a great range of ciders (almost as much as beer in the UK). On the beer side, we will guide you to taste the one that will soon be your favourite. Gin and whisky lovers will also appreciate the place. It's a great place to hang out, especially during jazz sessions on Sunday afternoons and evenings.

THE BON ACCORD

Pub

This is Glasgow's premier beer pub, a veritable institution. With no less than800 beersand around 400 whiskies - he won the UK Whisky Bar of the Year - it's hard to go wrong pushing his doors, even if he's a bit off-centre, straddling the centre and the West End. On the catering side, it is their meat that enjoys an excellent reputation. The interior is quite classic and there are a few tables outside. For live music, it's Saturday at 9pm. There are also quizzes on Wednesdays starting at 8pm.

THE HORSESHOE BAR

Pub

Close to Glasgow Central Station, the Horseshoe boasts the longest bar in Britain, if not Europe! We'll leave the investigation to you, but theirs is still almost 32 meters away... The mosaics on the floor, the mirrors and the small chandeliers add to the charm of the place, where you can drink a few good pints. The karaoke nights are very lively. Sports fans will love the venue, with 11 screens and live broadcasts. On the food side, a classic pub menu is served from breakfast to dinner.

WAXY O’CONNOR’S

Pub

This gigantic Irish pub is well worth the detour just for its decoration alone. In a maze of mezzanines, halls and staircases, every nook and cranny is enchanting, with wood absolutely everywhere. The gnarled tree trunks that support the vaulted ceilings give the impression of being in the palace of a lost kingdom and one easily spends several hours there, during the day as well as in the evening. Under pressure, we find a few usual stars from the neighbouring island, but nothing very original. The food is very proper.
