Regulars come here to meet, chat and taste one of the nine real ales available, as well as a great range of ciders (almost as much as beer in the UK). It's a great place to hang out, especially during jazz sessions on Sunday afternoons and evenings.

This is Glasgow's premier beer pub, a veritable institution. With no less than800 beersand around 400 whiskies - he won the UK Whisky Bar of the Year - it's hard to go wrong pushing his doors, even if he's a bit off-centre, straddling the centre and the West End. This gigantic Irish pub is well worth the detour just for its decoration alone. In a maze of mezzanines, halls and staircases, every nook and cranny is enchanting, with wood absolutely everywhere. The gnarled tree trunks that support the vaulted ceilings give the impression of being in the palace of a lost kingdom and one easily spends several hours there, during the day as well as in the evening. Under pressure, we find a few usual stars from the neighbouring island, but nothing very original. The food is very proper.
