THE WEE CURRY SHOP
Read moreThis good Indian table has no more reputation to make with the locals in Glasgow. The recipes are completely traditional, with vegetarian or chicken, lamb and shrimp dishes. The map is not huge, but it's a good one and at a good price. Space is limited and it is sometimes useful to book in advance. It is possible to buy take-away, if you do not wish to linger. Good to know: you can bring your own bottle of wine or champagne (only corkage fees will be applied).
CHAAKOO BOMBAY CAFE
Read moreFrom the streets of Bombay to those of Glasgow, this gourmet Indian table has taken the plunge and is hardly lacking in faithful followers in the city. Its interiors and decorations honour the traditional architecture of the city centre, but the content of the plates is not Scottish and you can enjoy good curries, salads, kebabs and other specialities. If the prices are low, the quantities are more those of generous tapas than of main courses. Take the opportunity to discover several flavours and share your meal: it's even better!
MOTHER INDIA
Read moreLike its sister brand in Edinburgh, Mother India in Glasgow has been offering the very best in Indian craftsmanship, with excellent fresh, seasonal produce, since 1990. Fish, chicken, curries, shrimps, lamb, vegetarian and other dishes, everything is seasoned with the flavours of India and the taste journey is assured. In fact, the restaurant has won several awards. The prices are minimal and the portions allow you to taste several dishes and flavours. The interior is quite dark and cosy, with burgundy colours.
