The Normandy Victory Museum tells the story of the Battle of the Hedges, which took place just after D-Day in the English Channel. Through a moving scenography focusing on the daily lives of soldiers and civilians alike, visitors are invited to discover this sometimes little-known period in history. The sets, sounds, archive images, the possibility of touching objects, personal accounts - everything is there to plunge you into the world of the time and understand their experiences. Several months after the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, the site has undergone further improvements: the entrance has been renovated, and the impressive flag walkway is set to become even more impressive. Just a few figures to give you an idea of the museum's scale: 27 displays, dozens of vehicles, a plane, a barge, 15,000 period objects, a whole measuring no less than 2,000m2. It's hard to choose, but one of the highlights is a section dedicated to the role of women in the war. Of course, children are welcome too! Several films are also shown to enhance the overall experience. Additional activities include rides in a genuine Dodge (a vintage military vehicle), and an outdoor Escape Game: prior booking is essential. Finally, temporary exhibitions are organized to extend the experience by focusing on a specific subject. One of a kind!

Discover the history of the Battle of the Hedges in a museum accessible to all.
The Normandy Victory Museum invites you on a moving journey through 27 ultra-realistic, sound-enhanced settings. Nearly 15,000 authentic historical objects, relics, archives and military vehicles are on display. Some objects can even be touched for a closer look. The story of the Battle of the Hedges is not just about soldiers, but also about the daily lives of civilians and the role of women in the war.
The visit, which lasts between 1h30 and 3h depending on your interest, is accessible to all, whether you're a history buff or a family with children who want to better understand what happened during the 100 days following the Normandy landings.
Outside, not far from the runway in the former American A10 Airfield, a collection of period vehicles and installations can be viewed free of charge.
Exhibitions and activities
--> "Women in War" exhibition: discover the important role played by women during the war. Civilian or military, we now recognize their preponderant role.
--> "Portraits of veterans" exhibition: Florent Plana, a specialist and enthusiast, went to meet veterans in their home countries and entrusted us with their magnificent portraits, which are set amid scenes depicting their history, 77 years earlier.
--> Exhibition 2025 "Intoxicated! Youth under the Nazi boot": from February 8 to November 2, 2025, the Normandy Victory Museum will host an exhibition proposed by the Mémorial Alsace-Moselle de Schirmeck: "Intoxiquée! Youth under the Nazi boot". How did the Nazi regime influence and indoctrinate young people under the Third Reich? What manuals, what programs, what techniques of manipulation... This exceptionally rich exhibition, on a serious subject, is an opportunity for everyone to question the mechanisms of indoctrination. It is aimed at families, schoolchildren and teachers, who will find it an excellent way of enabling our young people to recognize, understand and protect themselves from such "intoxication".
