The Kovzha, which is an integral part of the Volga-Baltic canal, rises from the White Lake in the direction of the water division canal. It is a shallow river, 86 km long, with a lot of rocks, and its original course must have been somewhat modified to make it more passable. The landscapes of the region are magical, as the banks are made up of large expanses of flooded forest and the coast is particularly indented. At km 802, in a huge clearing, you will see the solitary tree, well known by the regulars. Further on, at 22 km, you will see one of the largest sawmills in the region.
