The plateau that lies south of Kazuno, between the two lakes of Towada-ko and Lake Tazawa-ko, is crossed from east to west by the Aspite Line Highway. It is on this line, and especially around Hachimantai-chōjō, that the accesses to the various tourist points are located. The views are beautiful, but the hikes disappoint a bit with their dreary slowness. The most interesting is still the hike from Tōshichi Onsen to Mount Nyūtō-san.
