SEA GLASS VILLA
DISCOVER A MODERN VERSION OF GLASS IGLOOS IN LAPLAND
The Seaside Glass Villas are located in the SnowCastle region by the sea in Kemi, Lapland. These villas resemble modern igloos, with a glass roof and huge windows opening onto the sea and the northern sky. Admission to SnowExperience365, the year-round snow & ice showroom, is included in your stay. Breakfast is served in a magnificent sea-view restaurant in the main building.
Villas with incredible sea views offer unique accommodation in Lapland. All villas have a glass roof, giving a breathtaking view of the northern sky. Huge windows let you become one with nature and enjoy the magnificent sea view. During the midnight sun season, you can cover the glass roof and windows with curtains so that the never-setting sun doesn't disturb your sleep. These glass villas with small kitchenette and bathroom are an excellent choice for those who want to make the most of their vacation in Lapland. The villas are located in a beautiful, quiet arctic setting by the sea, yet close to all the amenities of the SnowCastle area and the small town of Kemi. The town center with its restaurants, cafés, train station and bus station is just a few steps away.
The sea freezes over in winter, and you can walk on the sea ice in front of your villa. You can also book a snowmobile safari from the nearby safari house and set off on an adventure right on your doorstep. Icebreaker Sampo cruise transfers also depart from the SnowCastle area. WHO WE ARE
We have decades of experience as a unique tourism operator in Lapland. We're known for drawing from the sea. We own and operate one of Finland's best-known international travel services. The Icebreaker Sampo is the world's only super-class A1 passenger icebreaker, and has been used for tourism in Kemi since 1988. This ship, which travels on the icy sea in winter, is also a museum that tells the story of Arctic navigation.
Over the years, we have become a pioneer in snow construction, and today offer snow, ice and sea experiences all year round. The SnowCastle of Kemi concept has been renewed to meet the year-round needs of tourists, local residents and M&E customers. The SnowCastle365 M&E house offers different, functional settings for different types of meetings and events.
The SnowCastle area includes our main building, the SnowCastle365, the Seaside Glass Villa accommodation area, the summer camping area and the winter park in winter. The SnowExperience365 showroom in the main building serves as a year-round attraction. The facility features ice sculptures and ice slides, as well as snow floors. Even in the heat of summer, you can enjoy a drink by the ice tables!

ICEBREAKER SAMPO CRUISE

The Icebreaker Sampo cruise includes a 3.5-hour cruise, a welcome drink, a guided tour, ice floating, a diploma and admission to SnowExperience365 or SnowCastle Winter Park (depending on the time of year). The shuttle will pick you up at your chosen pick-up point. You'll have time after the morning cruise or before the afternoon cruise to explore the SnowCastle area. We also recommend booking lunch in the SnowCastle area.
Lapland is one of the few extraordinary places where the sea freezes completely in winter. Experience an unforgettable adventure on sea, snow and ice during a cruise on the frozen Gulf of Bothnia. Let yourself be carried away by the magical moments of Arctic nature. Witness the Arctic sunrise on a morning cruise or experience the famous blue moment as the sun begins to set in the evening. Take it easy and enjoy the ride through the icy waters. Feel the arctic freedom on deck, or relax and sip hot beverages in the Icebreaker bar, comfortably indoors. Before returning to port, the ship will make a one-hour stopover to allow every visitor to take part in the ice flotation event, comfortably dressed in survival suits. You'll enjoy a guided tour around the ship, during which you'll learn about the ship's history and icebreaking operations. You'll meet the captain, chief engineer and electrician at work. The crew gives information on the technical parts of the ship. You can also walk around the ship and get to know every nook and cranny. Our guides are there to help you and provide detailed information about the ship throughout the cruise. An electronic guide is also available to provide information in different languages.

KEMI SNOW CASTLE
THE WORLD'S LARGEST SNOW CASTLE
Year-round services in the SnowCastle area are still surprising people, even though they've been open year-round for several years now. Before we find out what this year means, let's take a step back in time. It all began in 1996, when the world's largest snow castle was built in Kemi from natural snow and ice. The castle was a joint gift from the town of Kemi and Unicef to the children of the world, and attracted a great deal of attention worldwide. Since then, snow castles have been built around the town in winter, featuring snow-covered restaurants with ice tables, hotels, chapels, bars and children's playgrounds. However, the castles always melted in April and returned to the sea from which their building materials had originally been extracted. The ruins of castles dating back some twenty years are already undulating on the shores of Kemi.

El bufet no está pensado para niños, bastante pequeño sin mucha variedad. La zona de hielo es una sala interior con un tobogán de hielo enorme y divertido para los niños. Unas pocas esculturas, pero muy chulas eso sí! En la zona exterior tienen un laberinto, para hacer hockey, y un trineo muy divertido para que monten los niños. Hay una pista de nieve para tirarse con donuts, pero a penas va rápida y todos se encallan a mitad de camino. Hay dos tiendas de souvenirs y lavabos muy limpios.
