Overlooking the town of a hill in the centre of Uzhgorod, this castle was built between the th and th centuries. Ancient chronicles connect the foundation. Located on the beautiful Voloshina street, this church is one of the oldest monuments in the city. The history of its construction began in 1691 when Yury Druget, the lord of the city, converted to Catholicism, built this church instead of the Lutherienne church that was here. She acquired her baroque appearance in the 1760 s. Not far from the church, at No. 13, is the house of Gisèle, a former school for girls, founded in 1859, now a school of music.
