Meares Glacier in Prince William Sound offering a very impressive boat tour of the area

This coastal glacier is located in Prince William Sound. It flows into Unakwik Bay in Chugach Forest National Park. It is 1.6 km wide, and advances with eerie creaks and spectacular icefalls. It is often visited by cruise ships because it is very impressive and beautiful with Mount Grosvenor in the background. This itinerary pushes the exploration from Valdez for 7 to 8 hours round trip, with the observation of marine life (whales, sea lions, sea lions) on the way.
