Located 45 km north of Treinta y Tres, the Quebrada de los Cuervos ("Rift of the Crows" in Spanish) is a 365-hectare protected park considered a "hidden paradise". To get there, you have to take a road 24 km west at km 306 of the Ruta 8. In the heart of a series of steep and lush mountains where the Yerbal Chico River flows, this area is home to a very rich flora, with 87 of the 224 species of indigenous trees in the country and 23 species of ferns. The site enjoys a microclimate of subtropical type and the landscape is sublime. Sometimes the walls of the gorge reach 100 meters high. From the top, the view is sumptuous! While exploring the area, you will be able to hear and observe about 100 species of birds, 20 species of mammals, 18 species of amphibians and 20 species of fish, such as the ñandus, the mountain peacocks and the blue magpies. The cawing of crows also echoes in the rift, adding a touch of mystery to this natural wonder.
