Read moreThe Forum of Swiss History is housed in a building dating from 1711, a former grain storehouse that has been completely renovated and modernized. It is the home of the Swiss National Museum in Central Switzerland. On three floors, the museum presents and explains the conditions under which the old Confederation came into being in the Middle Ages. Temporary exhibitions with contemporary museography in the basement make the museum an important cultural platform. Cafeteria and shop.

Read moreThe Federal Charter Museum is dedicated to the Confederation, presented in two ways: the history of the old Confederation and the myths associated with it. The famous Federal Charter signed on August1, 1291 between the cantons of Schwyz, Uri and Unterwalden is at the heart of this exhibition, which also features the Grütli Oath (1307), the story of William Tell (1307), the battles of Morgarten (1315) and Marignan (1515), and the Brunnen Pact (1315).
