The largest island in the archipelago and the one that houses the only «village» worthy of this name, makes it a community of artists and artisans. Beautiful walks can be made. The red and black monument represents the Sandinista flag; the words of General Sandino appear: " Our flag is red on black. black is death and red is resurrection. " Message of hope symbolizing the eternal resurgence of revolutionary forces against oppression, injustice and slavery.The three heroes of the Sandinista Revolution, dead during the first fighting against the somocista regime, are buried under the big stone; the plaques evoke their fight, their thinking; a philosophy distributed in the popular masses of Ernesto Cardenal.
