Hornvika is located just north of the island of Mageroy, which is accessed by road E 69, which runs along the Fjord fjord. Approximately 2,5 km northeast of the North Cape Plateau are remnants of the Second world war buildings and Docks. Hornvika was the former boat boat landing before the opening of the North Cape road in 1956. Today, you can still climb the 307 m leading to the plateau, on what remains of the 1 008 steps built in the 1880 s. The fauna and flora of Hornvika have been protected since 1929.
