NORLI ELDORADO

General bookshop

This is a must for stationery and book lovers. If you go shopping on Torggata, you won't be able to miss the luminous sign of this former cinema, the Eldorado, converted into a temple of books! You'll find everything: the latest publications of the best Norwegian authors, a huge collection of books, English books and second-hand books. You can also settle down for a few hours and read thanks to the armchairs and the coffee available. A real pleasure to visit this place and to "waste" your time!

TRONSMO

Bookshop

If there were to be only one bookstore left in Norway, it would undoubtedly be this one. It displays its colours loud and clear with its postcards, magnets, badges and of course its books: anti-Bush, against homophobia, for the defence of human rights. Some French books are sold and a section is dedicated to gay and lesbian literature. The whole is offbeat, the humour is sometimes acidic but very funny! A good address for readers who wish to discover Norwegian literature.

GALLERI BYGDØY ALLÉ

Bookshop

This specialist in old maps of Scandinavia also sells rare books from the 19th and 20th centuries, prints and paintings. The shop is very spacious and displays beautiful old navigation charts under glass. A great address for enthusiasts and simply people who like to spend time hunting for nice things! Think to stop there if you go to Bygdøy to see museums to avoid you to go back there because it's a bit far from the city center by foot, so not every day!
