Travel Guide Shwebo

More than one hundred kilometres northwest of Mandalay, Shwebo is particularly famous for its snakes and its thanaka, considered to be one of the best in the whole country. The modest size of the town makes it easy to visit on foot, and there are very few tourists compared to the surroundings of Mandalay. By bus, there are departures every hour from Mandalay. It takes three hours of road and 7 US$. Pick-up trucks take you to Kyauk Myaung, which is only 25 km away, a small hour drive for 800 kyats. But for lovers of train travel, Shwebo is also served by the railway line. By train, there are four departures a day from Mandalay, it takes 14 US$ and 4 hours of travel time.
