Mingun is located 12 km from Mandalay on the right bank of the Ayeyarwady. There is a fee to enter the site, up to 5,000 kyats or US$5. You will have the possibility to cut through it by renting, at the landing stage, the services of an oxcart which, by bypassing the site through the village, will allow you to enter without paying. The visit is very pleasant, and offers another idea of the region. From Mandalay, you can disembark by boat. The departure is at 9 am from Mandalay and the return from Mingun at 12:30 pm. If you return after 12:30 pm, by local boats, you will lose the ticket price. The Mayanschan Pier is at the end of 26th Street. In Mingun, there are several jetties depending on the water level. Don't forget to bring your passport with you. From Sagaing, you will have the possibility to rent a taxi, or some motorcycle drivers also propose to include Mingun in the day's old town package
