Museography showing the history of Avranches and Mont Saint-Michel from the Gallo-Roman era

It’s an unexpected place, and one that should surprise you! The modern Scriptorial boasts a magnificent museography. Visitors are taken through the history of Avranches and Mont from Gallo-Roman times, to the Middle Ages and the discovery of manuscripts. This journey takes in a corpus of some 700 digitised images, enabling virtual manipulation of the manuscripts, the treasure room, where volumes from the Mont monastery library are on display, and finally the printing works.

Un lieu à découvrir, avec ses remarquables explications de l'art manuscrit comme art de la détente et de la mise en valeur "animée" des connaissances. Présentation de l'origine des fonds Manuscrits, le Mont Saint Michel et de son origine.

Complément incontournable à la visite du Mont St Michel.
Il permet de mieux comprendre et d"apprécier le travail d"une richesse extraordinaire des "artistes" qui nous laissent ainsi des traces historiques fondamentales de la transmission de notre histoire.
