Border crossing with China open to tourists. It is possible to travel a little further north to Mengla, the first Chinese city close to the border. The border crossing in Laos is open from 8 a. m. to 12 p. m. and from 14 p. m. to 16 p. m. From Luang Project, by road, it takes about 3 hours of journey.
