Within 55 kilometres of Dhamar, Rada is still not visited. It houses the mosque of Al-Amariya, built in 1512 by Abdul Wahab ibn Tahir. This mosque was built on a platform and has two levels of plain. Under the arcades there are closed prayer rooms. A staircase leads to the floor (there were several originally) where the Koranic schools were established. The slender style of the whole, without minaret, is Indian inspiration.
