One of the liveliest markets in the region. The Grand Marché de Lomé is a two-storey building dating from 1967. Here you'll find just about anything you can buy or sell. The first level is the stronghold of the nana-benz, who sell loincloths and fabrics for making clothes. Upstairs is a veritable jumble of crockery, tools and salvaged handicrafts. Don't hesitate to mingle in this truly unique atmosphere.

A portion of the Grand Marché was moved to the north of the city to relieve congestion in the downtown area. The operation was not as successful as expected, as the habits are still alive. However, with time, this new market tends to compete with the mythical market of Assigamé. It concentrates for the most part the market of the second-hand clothes. It sells second-hand goods at affordable prices. You can also find all kinds of products, from food to cosmetics.
