Schloss Seehof is a beautiful baroque castle built as a summer residence for the prince-bishops of Bamberg.
Schloss Seehof was built in 1686 as a summer residence for the prince-bishops of Bamberg, according to plans by architect Antonio Petrini, in the commune of Memmelsdorf, 7 km from the bishop's palace. Nine exhibition rooms await visitors, including the "White Room" with its virtuoso ceiling painting by Giuseppe Appiani. The restored waterfall with its fountains and the sculptures by Ferdinand Tietz, which can be admired in the garden and in the Tietz Museum in the Orangery, bear witness to the splendor of the former rococo garden.
