Individually designed and tastefully furnished, the rooms with their clean lines and colorful tapestries were conceived differently by architect Kurt Seidel, father of the two brothers who own the hotel. In addition, the main rooms have been furnished with designer furniture by Vitra, Le Corbusier, Hansen and Eames & Co. The Moma 1890 Boutique Hotel is located in Munich's most beautiful district, the artists' quarter. It has 51 rooms, each decorated differently by architect Kurt Seidel, who has used furniture by Vitra, Hansen, Eames & Co, Le Corbusier andlighting fixtures by Occhio, Flos, Artemide and Ingo Maurer to create a unique, chic and timeless design. The hotel offers a variety of room types, from single to junior suite. Each accommodation isequipped with high-quality bedding, wifi, air conditioning or fan, smart TV, safe and much more.For early risers or late risers, the hotel team will prepare a hearty buffet breakfast of regional products, and on request coffee or tea specialties andfarm-fresh eggs . Beautiful hotel located right outside Munich East (Ostbanhof) station. One of the exits directly leads to the entrance of the hotel! Excellent connectivity to Airport via S8 (30 mins) and other metro lines/buses. Bustling area with lots of cafes/restaurants too.
As I am travelling by myself, opted for a single room. Was well decorated and was cozy. Lots of lovely little details (writing desk, safe, clean sheets, comfy pillows, little electronic note pad in the room to enquire about various things, good wifi connectivity, bottle of sparkling water and beautiful shower room with shower gels and shampoos from L'Occitane too!)
The staff at reception were very welcoming. They made sure my stay was pleasant. Non alcoholic drinks and snacks were included in the room cost! I have not used this complimentary service. It rained heavily during my stay and they were kind enough to lend umbrella which came helpful during my walking tour of Munich.
On the whole, I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Munich. Will definitely be staying again if I ever visit Munich.
Breakfast also great in a bright sunny room and lounge, with good coffee, fresh bread and varied options.
