The Museum of Crime and Medieval Justice traces more than 1,000 years of the history of jurisprudence in Germany and Europe.
This museum of crime and medieval justice covers four floors and traces more than 1,000 years of the history of jurisprudence in Europe. You will learn about the penalties for crimes and misdemeanours and the way justice was administered in those days. We will see many instruments of torture intended to extract confessions from the supposedly guilty and it is chilling to see these cages, pillories, trestles for quartering or the "iron maiden" which we doubt, however, that it was really used.

Interesting. I really liked the bits about the torture devices.

Very well presented and displayed. Just enough detail so as not to gross you out too much. Pretty crazy punishments explained, I wondered how people would react today if they faced these sort of public punishment?
