A traditional brewery to try the emblematic Bamberg smoked beer: Rauchbier.
Rustic setting and typical atmosphere at Schenkerla. In the plate, traditional Bavarian cuisine, cheap and quality. Speciality: stuffed onions! The first thing you come to taste is the famous smoked beer, traditional of Bamberg: the Rauchbier from "Schlenkerla" is a very dark and spicy bottom-fermented March beer with 13.5% original wort, which corresponds to an alcohol content of about 5.1%: the first sips are strange, you have the feeling of drinking smoked ham! Then, you get used to it.
