Place of collective memory to discover the old cells, the refectory, the garrison of the guards and the small hospital

Transformed into a museum in recent years, the former penitentiary, which was operational until 1956 and well preserved, is now a place of collective memory that can be visited. You can discover the old cells, the refectory, the guards' garrison and the small hospital as well as the famous frigideira. There are photos of the period as well as objects that belonged to the prisoners. The explanations are only in Portuguese, but the place speaks for itself and visitors who are passionate about the history of Portuguese-speaking countries will find it an exceptional testimony.

Le Cap Vert a vécu des moments durs, Chao Bom en est un témoin. C'est en fait un camp de concentration. Il ne se visite que librement, dommage, il y a certainement une visite à construire, il ne faut pas oublier ces moments durs et difficiles. Il ne faut jamais que cela se reproduise. Préparez les enfants si vous les emmener.
