About thirty kilometres from Praia, this botanical garden, which owes its name to a Portuguese botanist, was created to safeguard the endemic species of the archipelago and to multiply them. It is a quiet and beautiful place, frequented by the inhabitants of the capital who look for freshness. Some rare species stand out among the hundred or so that make it up. On the other hand, the views of the natural beauty of the environment are among the most impressive of the whole island and, for this reason alone, are worth the trip.
