It is a small village north of São Domingos, with a very pleasant, cool and humid climate, which produces beautiful flowers, especially spectacular bougainvilleas. This area, which is well-watered and green, has the only botanical garden in the country, called Grandvaux Barbosa, a haven of peace that makes the islanders proud. Thanks to this microclimate, there are 110 plant species, 10% of which are rare and endangered.
