Workshop belonging to the painter Tchale and having hosted an exhibition dedicated to Salazar, the easel of Luisa Queiros on the floor
Mindelo prides itself on being the cultural capital of the archipelago, with carnival, music and art. This old studio on the waterfront confirms this. It belongs to Tchalê, Mindelo's best-known painter and local figure. In 2003, he organized an exhibition devoted to portraits of dictators, with Salazar at the top of the list. A must-see if you're interested in painting, be sure to pay him a visit - he'll be delighted to show you his work. Another artist, the famous painter Luisa Queiros, had her easel here.
