Palace and former residence of the Governor, the most beautiful colonial building in Mindelo, hosting cultural events
With its pastel pink colour and its Indian palace look, the Governor's Palace is the most beautiful colonial building in Mindelo. Formerly the residence of the Portuguese governor, it has been renamed the People's Palace since independence. Built between 1858 and 1874, it was completely remodeled and enlarged in the 1930's giving it its current appearance. After having housed the Court for a few years, in 2015 the President of the Republic generously entrusted the keys to the City Council of Mindelo, whose project is to organize cultural events there.

Rien à visiter à l'intérieur. Il y a d'un côté une expo sur Cesaria Evora et de l'autre une expo d'art africain. Les expo sont sympa. Le palais ne sert plus au gouverneur.
