Did you know that? Fishing in Iceland is a popular leisure sport and there are many places to enjoy it. Veiðivötn (literally "fishing lakes") is one of these spots, and refers to a multitude of small lakes in the Fjallabak nature reserve, located north of Landmannalaugar. The place is as green as it is soothing, and you can easily imagine spending your day waiting for the bite. Be careful, you need a 4x4 to get there, part of the track is not tarred and you will have to cross two important fords.
